Asthma attack delayed Powell’s debut with A’s
Outfielder Boog Powell had a compelling reason for bowing out of his scheduled A’s debut Friday night: He couldn’t breathe.
Powell, acquired from Seattle in the Yonder Alonso trade on Aug. 6, started feeling dizzy as he caught flyballs during batting practice. He had been sick the previous two days, and before long his ailment turned into a full-blown asthma attack.
Powell periodically has used an inhaler since childhood, but he said this episode was his first in 10 years. He ended up in the emergency room, where he received breathing treatment.....

A new Princeton University study links childhood asthma and residential segregation.
Black children are twice as likely to develop asthma as a child. According to ScienMag, prior research suggest that this may be due to a lower average birth weight (while low birth rate increases the likelihood of a child developing asthma, it isn’t the “cause” and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology says there is no association between the two). However, even when comparing infants of all races with low birth rate, Black children are still more likely to develop asthma.....

Covenant Allergy and Asthma Fair
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Covenant Health hosted its annual allergy and asthma fair Friday to educate people on what they should do when they experience certain allergy or asthma symptoms.
Allergist and Immunologist, Dr. Goutam Shome, said although they have the fair annually they are trying to be more aggressive in their approach this year to educate and help prevent people from having to seek hospitals or urgent care.....
