Common cleaning products can trigger asthma symptoms

Fumes from cleaning products used at work can make existing asthma worse, according to a new study of professional cleaning service employees.
Products such as bleach, glass cleaner, detergents and air fresheners exacerbated asthma-related symptoms for the women, and their reduced lung function lasted until the morning after exposure, in some cases getting worse with time.....

"Men with hay fever are more likely to have prostate cancer – but those with asthma are more likely to survive it," the Daily Mirror reports. Those were the puzzling and largely inconclusive findings of a new study looking at these three conditions.
Researchers looked at data involving around 50,000 middle-aged men and followed them up for 25 years, looking at whether asthma or hay fever at study start were associated with diagnoses of prostate cancer or fatal prostate cancer during follow-up.....

Go Fund Me account set up for family of Vermilion kindergartner who died from asthma attack

A Go Fund Me account has been set up for a Vermilion family after their 6-year-old son, Xander K. Cormier, died May 9 after a severe asthma attack.
Xander died at University Hospitals, according to his obituary on Riddle Funeral Home’s website.
He was born Oct. 21, 2008, in Beaver, Pa. According to his obituary, he and his parents, Jeff and Emily, moved to Vermilion from Olmsted Falls two years ago.....
