A doctoral student at Columbia University’s School of Public Health, Weinberger had selected this SoHo perch, in front of a menswear boutique, as an optimal location for trapping pollen. Now she was trying to secure a strip of steel around the traffic light in order to hang her pollen monitor, and the shoes were getting in the way......

Asthmatic mom to run 60th Marathon
For more than a decade, Brooke Curran from Alexandria, Virginia has dedicated much of her time to competitive running, particularly in marathons. At the start, running her first marathon was just an item to cross off her “bucket list,” but as the years passed, her passion turned into her life’s work. It was in 2009 that her dedication to running turned into something more. That’s when she founded the RunningBrooke fund to raise money for impoverished families in her own community. At the start, she set a goal for herself to run a marathon in all 50 states and on all seven continents. On track to achieve this inspiring accomplishment in October, Brooke is looking to the future, challenging herself to run 40 more marathons until she reaches 100 marathons and raises one million dollars by 2016.....

NEW YORK -- Shares of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. edged higher on Wednesday on positive clinical trial data for an experimental asthma drug.
THE SPARK: The New England Journal of Medicine's website on Tuesday published the results of a study of the asthma treatment dupilumab, which Regeneron is developing with French drugmaker Sanofi. The study showed that dupilumab cut the incidence of asthma getting worse by 87 percent, and patients who took the drug had greater improvements in lung function compared to patients who were given the placebo.....
