FDA approves Breo Ellipta for adults with asthma

The FDA on Thursday approved Breo Ellipta for the once-daily treatment of asthma in adults, according to a company press release.
Breo Ellipta (fluticasone furoate/vilanterol; GlaxoSmithKline, Theravance) is a fixed-dose combination drug administered using the Ellipta dry powder inhaler. The inhaled corticosteroid and long-acting beta agonist is indicated at two strengths, 100 µg/25 µg and 200 µg/25 µg, for patients aged 18 years and older.....

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Asthma rates are on the rise, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has introduced a bill to help treat it in schools.
The School Asthma Management Plan Act announced April 22 would make sure that schools are equipped to respond to asthma attacks and work to prevent them. Stockton mum not letting asthma get in way of running the London Marathon

Run Tracey Wright admits she came last in her first race.
As an asthmatic, Tracey, 31, found running a struggle at first and crossed the finishing line of her first 5k last “because her asthma was so bad”.
