School workers in state must know how to handle asthma crises, new law says
Each time Sheri Hurdle sends her 12-year-old daughter, Imanni, off to school, the mother worries that her child's severe asthma will act up in her absence.
Even with daily medication, a slight change in weather or exposure to dust can leave the child wheezing, hoarse or with uncomfortable chest tightening that requires an inhaler, nebulizer or other treatment. For years, it was up to Hurdle to make sure school staff had the medication and training needed to keep her daughter safe while she attended Walter S. Christopher Elementary School in Chicago.....

Persistent Asthma May Increase Migraine Risk in Children
Children with persistent asthma are at increased risk for migraine, and treatment with antiasthma or antiallergy treatment may lower this risk, according to a study published in Headache.
Up to 1 in 5 children suffer from migraine, and the risk for migraine increases from childhood to adolescence. Migraine has been linked to atopic conditions, such as asthma and allergic rhinitis, in adults, and limited data suggest migraine may be associated with asthma in children.....

Gurugram sees spike in number of asthma attacks; air pollution adding to woes
With seasonal changes and excessive pollution levels, Gurugram is seeing a rise in the number of asthma attacks. Doctors say exposure to cold air and consumption of food loaded with preservatives could act as triggers.
“In this season, people spend more time indoors assuming that pollen is the only factor that triggers an attack. However, they still breath in potential triggers such as moulds, pet dander and dust particles when they are at home, says Dr. Piyush Goel, Consultant Pulmonology, Columbia Asia Hospital, Gurugram.....
