Study: Many seniors with asthma, COPD still smoke
More than 40 percent of older adults who experience difficulty breathing because of asthma or COPD continue to smoke, despite the negative effects that smoking has on their health, according to a recent study.
Led by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the research involved data from the U.S. National Health and Nutrition Survey over a five-year period. Researchers found that 46.2 percent of adults aged 40 to 79 with lung obstruction currently smoke cigarettes.....
