The father of a teenager who died from an asthma attack is helping to raise awareness of the lung disease in a new campaign.
The Asthma Society has launched a new TV advert and social media campaign to help educate people on how to deal with it better.
Chris Martin, 19, was a fit and healthy teenager and played rugby for University College Cork before he dropped dead on Christmas morning in 2015 after waking up gasping for air.....

Asthma treatment: New drug IMPROVES control to help sufferers swerve DEATH
ASTHMA affects 5.4 million people in the UK, and someone has a life-threatening asthma attack every ten seconds - but a new drug could help sufferers control the condition.


It’s a chronic lung condition inflaming and narrowing the airways, causing periods of wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath and coughing.
Sometimes it can trigger an asthma attack, when symptoms worsen due to the lining of the airways becoming swollen or inflamed.
However, a new way to treat the condition has been discovered in a new study.
The drug - Relvar Ellipta - was found by the Salford Lung Study (SLS) to improve asthma control in patients much more than their counterparts who continued taking their usual medicines.....

There’s a whole lot of conflicting information out there about feline diets, but not a great deal about the best food for cats with asthma. Why is this? Well, we’re special, us asthma cat parents – only about 1% of cats are asthmatic, so in the grand scheme of things there really aren’t that many of us.
