Air pollution has triggered medical emergency for asthmatic children. The Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) has claimed to have come out with a new manual named Asthma Training Module (ATM)to learn how not be slaves to the incapacitating medical condition and rather be its master. Banking on ATM would come much handy in preempting any asthma emergencies.
Given the diagnostic dilemmas and confusing options in coping up with asthma, ATM promises to provide an effective tool to tackle it. Childhood asthma is one of the most common respiratory illnesses.....

Low vitamin D linked with higher asthma & bladder cancer risks

Those who don’t get enough vitamin D may be at increased risk for devastating health conditions likes asthma and bladder cancer, a review of some previous studies suggested.
A team of researchers analyzed information regarding more than 25,000 adults and 9,700 children, who participated in health surveys between 2001 and 2010.
Overall, 70 per cent of the adults and 68 per cent of the children were found to have lower-than -adequate (30 nanograms per milliliter) levels of vitamin D., and nearly 1,800 adults and 1,200 children were diagnosed with asthma.....

Yes, you can have asthma AND other diseases too!

Recently, I was talking to a friend and mentioned how much I hate migraines.
She looked at me and said, “But you have asthma.”
I responded with “Yes” and give her a strange look (I couldn’t figure out what she was getting at).  She said, “You have asthma AND migraines?!”
“Uh, yeah. In fact, I have asthma, allergies (including food allergies- which can lead to anaphylaxis), migraines and arthritis”.....
