Environmental pollution is biggest cause of asthma: Experts (May 3 is World Asthma Day)

New Delhi, May 3 (IANS) India has witnessed a huge rise in asthma in the past decade, especially among children, due to a spike in environmental pollution, experts have said.

For the sake of those with asthma, for the sake of us all, we need to work to improve the poor quality of Lancaster County's air

THE ISSUE
Despite some modest progress, Lancaster County still holds the dubious distinction of having remarkably poor air quality compared to that of other areas in the United States — it’s the 11th worst of 186 metro areas for soot levels and gets an “F” grade for smog, according to the American Lung Association. The county produces its own share of pollution, but a big part of the problem is emissions drifting eastward from power plants in regions like western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
