Lobby group blames trucks for high asthma rates in Maribyrnong

DIESEL fumes are to blame for Maribyrnong having more than double the ­national rate of children’s asthma, a lobby group says.
Maribyrnong Truck ­Action Group president Samantha McArthur said she was shocked by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care data, which found 73 children from Maribyrnong were hospitalised because of asthma and related conditions from 2010-11 to 2012-13.....

Among 526 adolescents and young adults who were asked about their exercise habits, those with asthma tended to report more physical activity than those without asthma.
