Doctor attributes rise in asthma in Taiwan to air pollution
Taipei, Dec. 6 (CNA) The prevalence of asthma induced by allergies in Taiwanese children has roughly doubled over the past 20 years, with air pollution the main culprit, pediatrician Chien Hsiao-yun said Sunday.
The affliction, which now affects one of every five children in Taiwan, has grown more prevalent because of a rise in fine particulate matter smaller than 2.5 micrometers (PM2.5), Chien said.....
