Asthma medication during early childhood linked to growth issues: Research

Asthma medication in form of inhaled corticosteroids is one of the most used treatments for infants and children during early age. However, a new study conducted in Finland has found that asthma medication given for six months or more during early childhood (less than 24 months age), could lead to growth issues during adolescence. The research team at the University of Eastern Finland checked growth records, height and weight of more than 12,000 grown up individuals and compared to the history is asthma during childhood.....

'Too Clean' Environment May Lead to Childhood Asthma, Study Suggests

It is natural for parents to clean their child's environment. However, a new study suggests that being excessively clean is not that good at all.
According to the study published at the Science Translational Medicine, the risk of developing asthma is greater for 3-month-old infants who have lower levels of the four identified types of gut bacteria - bacteria that do not thrive in overly cleaned environments.....
