Th2 biomarkers help identify inflammation in patients with asthma

Th2 biomarker levels appeared to be stable indicators of inflammation in patients with asthma, according to study results.
However, the biomarkers did not appear to help predict high or low bronchodilator reversibility for patients with partly or poorly controlled asthma, according to researchers.....

IFC Films Lands Rights to Jake Hoffman’s ‘Asthma’

IFC Films has landed distribution rights to Jake Hoffman’s directorial debut, “Asthma.”
Written and directed by Hoffman, the pic stars Benedict Samuel and Krysten Ritter alongside Nick Nolte, Rosanna Arquette, Goran Visnjic, Dov Tiefenbach, Rene Ricard and Iggy Pop.
The film follows Gus, who is suffocating in life both figuratively and literally because of his asthma attacks. Gus only sees hope in Ruby, a confident tattoo artist. The two take an impromptu trip out of the city in a stolen classic convertible, and Ruby warns him not to fall in love with her, but that’s easier said than done.....

Bushfire sparks asthma attacks

THE blanket of smoke covering the Darwin area on Thursday morning had asthmatics scrambling for their medication.
Asthma Foundation NT EO Jan Saunders said that smoke from the scrub fires can trigger asthma attacks, shortness of breath and allergies.....
