Asthma is not more prevalent in the inner city, researchers say
For more than 50 years, researchers have described childhood asthma as a plague of the inner city -- urban areas where 20 percent or more of the population lives below the poverty line. But a new study by researchers from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine suggests that isn't true, and that race, ethnicity and poverty are more closely associated with the lung disease than location in urban neighborhoods.....

Almost a third of people with asthma may not have condition
More than a million people in Britain may be wrongly diagnosed as having asthma, a watchdog has warned.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) said a third of people diagnosed with the condition have no clinical signs of asthma.
Their report said some people may have had asthma in the past, but it is more likely that many have had an incorrect diagnosis.....
