Heaves in horses more like asthma than COPD, says expert

Heaves in horses is more akin to asthma than the serious chronic obstructive pulmonary disease found in humans, a specialist in the field says.
Heaves, or broken wind, are terms used that have been used for decades to describe an allergic respiratory disease of mature to older horses. Its signs include increased breathing efforts at rest and chronic coughing.....

Canada Post building evacuated after man suffers asthma attack

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital Wednesday morning after asthma symptoms were apparently caused by a strong odour at the main Canada Post building.
The odours prompted officials to order a precautionary evacuation of the building at 1424 Sanford Fleming Ave.....

Coroner: Driver who crashed in York Twp. died of asthma attack

A Red Lion man died of natural causes Tuesday while driving his car in York Township, causing his vehicle to crash into a tree, officials said.
David Scott, 38, of the 200 block of North Main Street in Red Lion, was trying to drive himself to the hospital when he was overcome by asthma, York County Coroner Pam Gay said.....
