Chemicals in Plastics Tied to Child Asthma

While in the womb, children who are exposed to household chemicals known as phthalates have an 80 percent increased risk of developing asthma between ages 5 and 11. Two specific phthalates, a type of chemical used to make plastics more flexible and harder to break, butylbenzyl phthalate and di-n-butyl phthalate, were specific to increasing the risk, according to the study......
