Can online avatars help kids with asthma?

Can interactive avatars help manage a child’s medical issues? Mequon, Wisconsin-based Geppetto Avatars Inc. thinks the answer is yes.
Now the company, headed by former Metavante Technologies executive Norrie Daroga, must convince investors. The startup debuted an early version of its asthma monitoring app Friday at South by Southwest, the art, technology and music extravaganza in Austin, Texas. It is one of 10 companies launched at the festival's ReleaseIt event.....

Central Ohio Doctors Develop App To Combat Asthma

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A new smart phone app can tell a child with asthma "it's time to take your medicine."
Dr. David Stukus and Nabeel Farooqui with Nationwide Children's Hospital are the brains behind it.
“You know, I think it was my four year old son. I think he learned to use my iPhone even before he learned to talk, and that's what the Aha Moment was for me,” said Farooqui.....
