If your children have asthma attack, the parents must have panicked because they do not bear to see children very difficult to breathe. What parents can do is to perform first aid if an asthma attack appears.
Asthma attacks result in the child have trouble breathing, especially breathing out, trouble speaking, the increased frequency of cough and wheezing accompanied by the sound. If very severe, can result in bluish color of the face and lips.
The cause of asthma in children and adults is due to inflammation of the respiratory tract. This inflammation makes the airways become overly sensitive, causing symptoms such as a small cough, breathing sounds or shortness of breath.
Children who have asthma is usually due to hereditary factors who had a family history of asthma, especially parents. Other factors such as exposure to cigarette smoke, have a particular allergy, live in areas with air pollution, was born with low weight and are obese.
Although until now not been able to cure asthma, but asthma attacks can be controlled. As quoted from Childrenfirst, Saturday (9/1/2010) there are some steps that can be done if the child's asthma attack, namely:
1. Give and help to use an inhalers.
2. Helping children to a comfortable position, especially sitting upright, leaning back, do not position the child to lie down.
3. Try to take the child to breathe slowly and deeply.
4. Give children space roomy enough to avoid getting crowded.
5. Try to provide good ventilation such as opening windows or doors if necessary.
6. If after 3 minutes there was no change, try to give back inhaler medication.
7. If the drug does not give effect inhalers or worsen after 5 minutes, try to spray every 5-10 time while taking a child to the doctor to get medical help.
For children who are old enough are already aware of and understand the condition that know how to prevent not occur asthma attacks and make the condition better.
